High pressure sodium lamps HP-LST

Commonly used and efficient source of light, use ca. 40 per cent less electrical power whilst providing ca. 15 per cent more light. Suitable for lighting of streets, squares, residential areas. In sodium lamps light is generated by a discharge in sodium vapours. High pressure sodium lamps generate yellow light with colour rendition index. They have a more favourable spectral power distribution than low pressure sodium lamps. Due to high efficacy (highest among high pressure discharge lamps) commonly used for outdoor (mainly streets and roads) and indoor lighting (warehouses, industrial buildings). There are three shapes of high pressure sodium lamps: elliptical tube, cylinder tube and cylinder double-ended.

Higher efficacy high pressure sodium lamps    HP-LSTS

HP-LSTS lamps are a variety of high pressure sodium lamps with higher lighting efficacy, with light stream increased by ca. 15 per cent compared to HP-LST. Suitable for lighting of streets, squares, recreational areas and industrial sites. This type of lamps requires higher striking voltage than standard lamps and therefore attention should be paid to selecting proper striking systems.

High pressure mercury lamps HP-LR

HP-LR –type lamps are widely used sources of light and the oldest high pressure discharge lamps. Despite that, they are still very popular and frequently used for both indoor and outdoor lighting. Due to simple construction and reliability they are used for lighting of parks, car parks and residential areas. Although mercury lamps are being increasingly replaced by sodium lamps (e.g. city street lighting), they are bound to remain in use.
